Good evening. We have some news that we want to share with everyone. It has to do with the report and how we update the report. As you have noticed over the last week or two some of our pictures and videos have been taken from a phone. Why? Well lots of reasons.

When we created this website back at the end of March our goal was to give everyone a surf report that would be updated at least 3 times a day 7 days a week. We also wanted the reports to have pictures and video so that everyone could see what it looks like on Pensacola Beach. It’s one thing to have someone tell you what it’s like but it’s totally different to be able to see it for yourselves. As you know we don’t always have surf. Sometimes its flat and sometimes its so big and nasty you wouldn’t paddle out if you could. What I am getting at is there is no real reason to have 25 pictures of flatness 3 times a day when you can take a couple of pictures and videos from a phone and see the same thing and because of that our report has to evolve. The good news is that I think this report will become way better than it is now. Just be patient with us. So this is how our report is going to change.

We are going to give you a morning report like we always do. We will go to 18th, the Cross and the Pier and we will take pictures and videos of each spot like we have been doing. No change there. Now for the change. We are giving a select few people access to our site so that they can give updates also. So you will start hearing new voices on the surf report. The people that we chose to help us with the report will be using their phones to update. The report will look very similar to what it has over the last week or two. You will still have 3 updates a day.

Having some people help us with the report does a couple of things for us. It gives us a much needed break when there is no surf or it’s victory at sea. When the surf is good we will still give pictures and video from our camera. So instead of just getting 3 reports a day you may have more which is our ultimate goal for when the surf is good. Having a little time off of the report will also allow us to spend more time trying to improve this website. We still have so many things we want to do but with us updating it 3 times a day 7 days a week all by ourselves makes it really hard. Plus it will free up some time for us to try and find some more sponsors for the site. The more sponsors we can get the better this report will become. So we are changing the site a bit but it’s not really that big of a change.

Thank you all for checking out our website. We appreciate it so much. We couldn’t keep this site up without your support. I hope that you have been enjoying it and will continue too for a very long time. So who is going to be updating the reports? I wonder? I guess you will have to keep checking back to find out. Whoot. Have a great day!
