Pensacola Beach Lighthouse…sort of.
This is actually a fake lighthouse, from the movie set of Jaws II. They filmed parts of the movie at Ft. Pickens, and Navarre Beach in 1977.
Personally, I was living in San Diego at the time. I was making new friends, surfing great waves, and working a super fun job at G&S Skateboards – but, when I saw this movie with the white sandy beaches and clear Pensacola water, I longed for home. I heard many stories of good surf wrapping around the Point, while the movie people tried in vain to get the surfers out of the water.
The lighthouse no longer exists. They dismantled it after filming.
