This Yancy Spencer III photo was published in Surfer Magazine 52 years ago. I’ve always loved the shot. Dave Skelton took it at Panama City Beach back in 1973.
I believe the article was about the Panhandle of Fl. being a “Winter Wonderland” (Yancy’s description). The caption said something like “memories of good waves fade into your mind like a pleasant haze”.
Pretty sure Yancy was riding a 6’9”Hank Warner keel fin – which he surfed really well.
