Imagine renting a gulf front home for $100 a month!
I spotted this image of old Pensacola Beach on social media recently, and thought I recognized the circled house to be a house rented by Mike Stephen in the mid 1970’s. After sending him the photo, this was his response:

“Yes, that looks like 108 Ariola Drive, owned by Randall King’s Grandfather. No heat in the winter. We would surf, come in, and stand in front of the stove with all burners and the oven on. $100 a month rent – so $50 each for roommates (Vic Bennett or Tom Fruittcher). It was a great place to live for young surfers!”
