Here’s a fun day at Pensacola Beach in the 1970’s.
The waves are good, but not really any better, or worse, than waves we get these days. What’s interesting to me is the pier, especially the crowd on the pier. This is the wooden pier we had until Opal destroyed it in 1995. In that era it wasn’t unusual for the pier to be closed, but yet wide open for anyone to walk on – which made it a fun place to hang out when the surf was up.
