If you ever see a guy out in the lineup with a white helmet, it’s probably local attorney Mike Burns. Mike had a pretty horrendous surfing accident years ago when his swallow tail landed “in” his forehead. He was basically drowning. He survived, but if I’m not mistaken he was told he’d never surf again. Well, he still surf’s all the time – with his helmet. Here, he’s taking a clean slice out of a wave in Central America.
