Pensacola surfer Larry Martin spent time serving, and surfing, in Vietnam during the war. This photo was actually taken in 1965/66 in the town of San Miguel, in the Philippines, before he went to Vietnam.
Larry found out there were two boards in town that belonged to an officer. He fixed this one up, and surfed it while he was there. He said the waves were just “ok”.
