Ron Rousch
Ron lived in Pensacola when he was young and learned to shape surfboards under the guidance of Brain Waters at Islander Surfboards. He moved to Hawaii in the early 80’s and perfected his craft of shaping. Some of the best surfers in Hawaii rode his Local Motion shapes, including Larry Bertlemann and Buttons. Ron became the licensee for Local Motion Surfboards in Florida, where he shaped in Brevard County for a number of years. He eventually moved back to Hawaii.
These photos show Ron with Rob Burns, the owner of Local Motion, several years ago. The photo next to the van is a little more recent photo taken in 2018ish, in Hawaii.
I found a neat FB post that Ron shared:
 “For all you’ve done for me, God, I just want to say, Thank you”.
Ron had a fatal heart attack in 2018 or 19.
