YS III wreaked of beautiful style. He really was a joy to watch out in the surf – especially at his peak, which was around the time these photos were taken, in 1973ish.
Dave Skelton took the photos and had them published in Surfer Magazine. All the local surfers were always so excited to see Pensacola photos in the magazines. I think it really elevated the stoke, and it showed in the water. It made everyone want to go for it, just a little bit more.
