These two guys must have at least 120 years of wave riding between them. Tom Grow and Scott Bush started surfing sometime in the early 1960’s, I’m guessing. They were local board building pioneers a few years later. Scott had a few surf shops in the late 60’s/early 70’s. Tom surfed in the 1965 World Championships in Peru. He got an invite after he wrote the contest organizer a letter telling them he would like to represent Florida…and he got in! Scott brought Challenger Surfboards to the area. He even had Yancy III on his team before Yancy started Innerlight.
If you ever get the chance to hang around these guys they have tons of great stories.
