John Russell gave so much to our local surf community.
He was a super nice guy, with a great sense of humor – a very good surfer, a very good musician, a talented photographer, and he had a great website – Surf Smooth. He kept us all up to date with his daily video surf reports. It was always a good thing to spot this truck on the beach. If you did, you knew the waves were gonna be good, and if you were lucky you might have your photo taken that session. His era was a neat one on Pensacola Beach.
