Dave West took some epic super 8 videos of the Point back in the 70’s. This is a frame grab from one of his films. You can tell by the background that this was where the point starts to wrap around into the bay. On a good day you could (sometimes) catch a wave up the point and pump it all the way around the bend and into the bay. Times like that were fantastic! Here Dave’s brother, Jim, is trying to connect the sections.
