I’m not so sure that our surf used to be better back in the day. I started in 1970. I once asked Yancy III if it was better in ‘65 when he started. He said he rode the whitewater a lot because the waves closed out so bad. He said we go through eras of good and bad. I tend to agree with him. But, there is one huge loss that we’ve experienced – Ft. Pickens, the Point and the Bay. It was consistently good there. This image is Robin Martin at the Bay – probably over 40 years ago.
