This is red hot goofy footer, Lance Moss, at the old entrance to Ft. Pickens in 1979 – the day after Hurricane Frederic plowed through our area. Look closely and you can see the gulf side, Chicken Bone Beach, picnic tables in the background. The entrance to the park used to be farther to the east than it is now. The beach was off limits for a while after the storm. We putted a Jon boat from Gulf Breeze across the sound, and had to dodge patrol cars/National Guard vehicles just to explore the beach.
