The Cobia Brothers – Hank, Ted and George – were prominent Pensacola Beach surfers in the ‘70’s (and beyond).
This photo was from a surf trip to Cape Hatteras in 1972ish. Hank’s the guy in the middle. George is holding his red 6’8” Challenger single fin. Steve Davis’ Plastic Fantastic is leaning against the car. I’m the guy eating, to the left.
The car made it to Hatteras, and almost all the way home: the transmission died in Panama City, 100 miles from home.
