Robin Martin – late 70’s/early 80’s
Robin was an Innerlight Team Rider before Innerlight was named Innerlight. He was one of Pensacola’s best surfers in the Greg Noll Surf Shop / New Era Surf Shop days (Innerlight’s previous names).
Robin’s nickname was “Animal”, though I’m not sure why. It may have been because he liked, or surfed like, Australia’s Nat Young, who was also a bit of an Animal out in the surf – but I’m not positive.
Robin still rips, but mainly in the Perdido Key / Gulf Shores area.
