If you’ve surfed Pensacola for any length of time, you’ve probably come across Larry Martin. At 70 something, he’s been surfing here forever 😊. He got shipped off to the Viet Nam war in the late 60’s, and he actually liked it! He helped run a surf shop near Da Nang at a beach called China Beach. It was a place of R&R for the troops. Larry enjoyed the surf so much, that he extended his stay – regardless of the war. If you ever saw the tv show, China Beach, it was based on what Larry and the guys did there.
