I have some bad news Surfers. The surf has officially died today on Pensacola Beach ending a May of surf that is unprecedented in most of our lifetimes. Time of death was at 11:50 pm May 31st in the year of our lord 2017 as can be clearly seen on The Orange Beach Buoy when it dropped to an unsurfable 1 ft. Several long time surfers have remarked that Pensacola may be returning to the Golden age of the 70’s in surf quality. Today though there are some storms in the Gulf and the winds are calm. The doldrums aren’t supposed to last long though with SE winds picking back up tonight and waves beginning to re-appear this weekend and a tropical weather system that may pay us a visit next week via Mexico. Low tide was around 3:00 am this morning, and high tide will happen at 4:30 this afternoon. Get your honey-do’s done and please go visit our sponsors in the next few days to help keep this Report going and the beach cam alive. Over and out!
