Tomorrow is the Hands Across the Sand event. It starts at noon at the Gulfside Pavilion at Casino Beach.

The following is a PSA from the Pensacola chapter:

Locally, we need to keep the issue of offshore drilling at the forefront. The Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill was over four years ago. People were outraged then, but as time goes by we tend to forget and do not perceive the ongoing threat. Studies are finding that the effects on our Gulf may be with us for a long time, yet the fossil fuel industry is ramping up for a new wave of drilling.

Can we convince our elected officials to adopt policies that foster clean and renewable energy sources? Let’s encourage as many people as we can to join hands on May 17 to show everyone where we stand as a community.

Come out for a great cause!
