This is Yancy Spencer at his absolute peak as a surfer (in my opinion). Not sure where this was, but it would be 1972-ish. He’s riding a yellow, 6’5” (pretty sure) Hank Warner shaped, AGP egg. On this board Yancy beat EVERYONE from all coasts and walked away with $1,000 (huge surf contest money at the time) at a pro event in North Carolina. It cemented his status as a surfer to reckon with. It told the surf world that this little place called Pensacola Beach, on the gulf coast, actually had surfers that could really surf. It really boosted YS as a surfer, but I believe it boosted all of us Pensacola guys, at the time.
The board has been restored and is on display at one of the Innerlight shops.
