Good afternoon!  It is a beautiful day out here on Pensacola Beach.  The wind has TURNED!  However, the surf has not started coming in yet…not that I expected it to.  It is blowing out of the East now causing for texture on the crystal clear Gulf of Mexico.  I have a sick kid…and it’s flat…so I thought I would do a little throwback today to one of my favorite days doing the PensacolaSurf.com surf report.

Here’s the set up for the post I have linked below.  Read this first…then click the link.

So the day before Debbie hit, it was trash.  It was nastiness that morning, too. Just victory at sea trash.  She moved off and thus the winds started going offshore…hard.  There were a few brave souls that tried to get out.  I saw a guy go in on the east of the pier and was drug all the way to the Cross…no lie.  Then we saw Tony Chicola (Dr. Anthony…with his bad shoulder) get out.  He started out on the East side of the pier and was picking off some huge bombs that were coming through.  A few more guys made it out also.  Around 30 surfers were on the pier checking out the waves.  We started cheering the guys out on the water on.  We would oooh when they dropped in and groan when they would fall. We would cheer when they would make it and high five each other. It was our own live Pensacola Surf movie!!  The waves dropped a bit and more peeps were out for the evening session.  You can check that sesh out too. Well, here’ s to awesome hurricane surf for us this summer….and NO WETSUITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
